For over 15 years, the "Bergische WanderBus" (Bergisch Hiking Bus) has been transporting hikers comfortably and conveniently to the most beautiful corners of the "Bergisches Wanderland" (Bergisch Hiking Region). There you'll find numerous well-marked and attractively equipped hiking trails. The two "Reisegärten" (Travel Gardens) in Eifgen and Schöllerhof also have stops where hikers can easily begin or end their hike, or simply take a break. Near the hiking trails and the "Reisegärten," you'll find a variety of restaurants and cafes; a selection of these can be found in the current mini-flyer.
The "Bergische WanderBus" (Bergisch Hiking Bus) runs on weekends and public holidays during the summer months between Odenthal and Wermelskirchen. The first bus departs from Bergisch Gladbach (S-Bahn station) in the morning and travels through Odenthal to Wermelskirchen. The last bus returns to Bergisch Gladbach (S-Bahn station) in the evening. The bus allows you to easily hike a point-to-point route and return home. Start at a trailhead parking lot along the route and take the Bergische WanderBus back. Or plan your own route, starting or ending at a bus stop.
The "Bergische WanderBus" has the route designation 267 and is part of the service of the Rhein-Sieg transport association (VRSThis is a joint project of the city of Wermelskirchen, the municipality of Odenthal, and the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis district, in cooperation with Das Bergische GmbH. VRS tickets are valid, including the accompanying passenger regulations for weekends and public holidays. The Deutschlandticket (Germany Ticket) can also be used on this route. Short-distance tickets are not valid. A minibus with limited seating will be used. Dogs are welcome; the transport conditions of the VRS apply. VRSUnfortunately, bicycles cannot be transported. The bus is not wheelchair accessible.
The buses run on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and also on the bridge days of May 15th and June 5th. The 2026 season runs from March 28th to October 4th, 2026.
