Do you have the ambition to hike the entire Bergischer Weg trail? Congratulations! Or would you simply like a nice souvenir? Then the hiking badge is just right for you.

Along the 259 km Along the long trail, you'll pass designated checkpoints: these are castles or milestone markers, churches, museums, or dams, all located along the route. Using the "SummitLynx" app, you can record photos of these checkpoints in your hiking log. Once you reach a certain number of points, you'll receive your personal digital hiking badge in bronze, silver, or gold, as well as a digital certificate. A fee of €4,90 (excl. (Shipping costs) you can also receive a physical hiking badge.

If you've already earned a hiking badge on the Bergischer Weg trail or in another region, you can enter a prize draw until October 15, 2026, for a chance to win a €500 voucher. Our partner SummitLynx is organizing the prize draw. Good luck!

  • In the app's menu, you'll find the "Regions" section. Click on "The Bergisches Land." Here you can see which destinations you need to reach to earn a pin, and you'll also get an overview of where you've already been, how many points you've collected, and what you still need to achieve.

  • Once you reach your destination, open the app and record your hike in the logbook with text and photos. At the same time, you'll collect points for the pins.

  • You will receive the bronze hiking badge after 3 stages.

  • You will receive the silver hiking badge after 8 stages.

  • You will receive the gold hiking badge after 14 stages.

  • If all requirements are met, you will receive your digital hiking badge and digital hiking certificate by email. These are also available in physical form and can be ordered for a fee of €4,90 (excl. Shipping costs) can be purchased.

  • The tour log contains all the destinations reached.
