Neunkirchen-Seelscheid

Neunkirchen-Seelscheid is located about 30 km northeast of Bonn and about 35 km Southeast of Cologne in the southernmost part of the Bergisches Land region. The natural setting and proximity to major metropolitan areas provide ideal access to a wide range of activities.
Hiking is very popular in Neunkirchen-Seelscheid. Whether a leisurely stroll or an extended hike; anyone who wants to experience nature up close will find themselves right at home here. The area is particularly impressive. approx. 23 km A long, challenging circular hike around the Wahnbach reservoir. The route leads predominantly through forests and offers beautiful views of the reservoir along the way. approx. 15 km The "Herb Trail" circular hiking route is shorter in length, but also includes challenging sections. The focus here is entirely on medicinal plants, which are described on 12 information panels along the way.
Historical Highlights They can be found in the main towns of Neunkirchen and Seelscheid. In the historic churches St. Margareta Church features ceiling and wall paintings dating back to the 12th century. Another historical highlight is the listed Seelscheid Art House, which hosts theatrical performances and readings. The Horbach Mill, steeped in tradition, has been in operation since 1841 and offers its products in its own mill shop.
