City on the heights – this evocative and dynamic title has a twofold meaning.
Firstly, Radevormwald is one of the highest towns in the Cologne administrative district (400m). mSMALLOn the one hand, it expresses a justified pride of the city and its citizens in the quality of life and living in Radevormwald.
Radevormwald is the northernmost city in the Oberbergischer Kreis district and one of the oldest cities in the Bergisches Land region.
Between 1309 and 1316, Count Adolf VI of Berg granted the town its charter, and market rights followed around 1400. The town celebrated its 700th anniversary in 2016.
Signposted cycling and hiking trails in an attractive landscape encourage active recreation. In winter, when there is sufficient snow, machine-groomed cross-country ski trails are offered in the village of Önkfeld.
