17th Long Night of the Republic
The “Long Night of the Republic” enters its 17th round and will once again transform the town center of Morsbach into a large festival mile on Saturday, August 08, 2026.
For years, this event has been a highlight of Morsbach's event calendar, attracting visitors from across the region. Organized by the Morsbach Community Cultural Association, this year's event also promises guests a diverse program of music, culinary delights, and entertainment for all ages.
The festival traditionally begins at 18:00 PM with the ceremonial tapping of the first keg. The event is then officially opened with musical accompaniment from the local music associations Klangwerk Morsbach and Musikverein Lichtenberg. The popular free beer is also part of the opening festivities.
Afterwards, the town center transforms into a lively festival area. A total of 25 stalls have registered for this year's event, offering visitors a diverse selection of food, drinks, and activities.
The Long Night of the Republic once again offers Morsbach's commercial and retail businesses an attractive platform to present themselves to a wide audience and to engage in conversation with visitors – an idea that was central to the creation of the event from the outset.
Even the youngest guests are catered for: A balloon man will provide entertainment and amazed faces with his creative figures.
Visitors can also expect a special musical highlight at the joint stand of Klangwerk Morsbach and the Lichtenberg Music Association, who will perform together later in the evening and create a great atmosphere.
