Dinner & Concert | Soundscapes in Dialogue
Experience an extraordinary concert experience in the unique atmosphere of Bensberg Castle: With the new concert series “Sound Worlds in Dialogue”, the rich tradition of 19th-century salon concerts is revived – stylish, intimate and a true rarity today.
In the magnificent setting of the castle, a captivating interplay of piano and harmonium unfolds – an instrument that experienced its golden age in the 19th century and was prized for its distinctive timbres. The historic harmonium, dating from 1849–1850 and crafted by the renowned Parisian instrument makers Alexandre Père et Fils, lends the evening a unique authenticity and brings to life the sonic aesthetics of bygone salons.
From 18:00 PM to 19:30 PM, a concert awaits you that will shed new light on the musical world of the late Romantic period. Works by Johannes Brahms, Richard Wagner, Camille Saint-Saëns, and César Franck will enter into a captivating sonic dialogue, creating an impressive experience.
A listening experience blending German and French Romanticism. The evening will be presented by Artem Kanke (piano) and Roman Salyutov (harmonium), who, as the initiator of the series, has established another artistic highlight at Bensberg Castle. Following the concert, the stylish Jan Wellem Restaurant invites you to a delightful finale: Enjoy an exquisite three-course meal accompanied by select wines, water, and coffee – the perfect end to an evening filled with sound and culture.
The price includes a 1,5-hour concert, a 3-course meal and accompanying drinks during the meal (wines, mineral water and coffee).
