Guided MTB tours in Wipperfürth

Enjoy the views across meadows and water, breathe in the fresh forest air, and tackle the next climb together – a guided tour combines sport, fun, and enjoyment. Discover the diverse Bergisches Land landscape – the tour guide will take care of the route and offer some tips on cycling technique.

In cooperation with Wipperfürth Tourism, the mountain bike team "Nippel 89" offers guided bike tours for adults in the region from May to October. "Team Nippel 89" is a group of around 25 active bikers and has been riding in the Bergisches Land region since 1989.

All tours start and end at the Wipperfürth market square, in front of the "Penne" inn. Refreshments are served at the "Penne" after each tour. Please bring your own food and drinks for the tour.

The tours are designed for e-mountain bikes. Conventional mountain bikers with a reasonable level of fitness are also very welcome. Please note the different difficulty levels indicated.

• Slightly: You prefer to cycle at a moderate pace on cycle paths, quiet asphalt roads and short forest and woodland paths.
• MediumYou're familiar with mountain biking, but you'd prefer to avoid tricky root or rock sections. You like to ride at a moderate pace on forest tracks, woodland paths, and quiet paved roads. Short sections of singletrack are still welcome, though.
• schwerYour mountain bike is your familiar piece of sports equipment. Not in extreme terrain, but you enjoy riding on narrow paths and root-covered trails. Small steps and even the occasional short pushing section are no problem.

Helmets are mandatory. Furthermore, appropriate sports equipment (clothing, shoes) should be chosen to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries. All participants are responsible for ensuring their bicycles are in proper working order. Participation is at your own risk; no liability is assumed for personal injury or property damage. The following events will take place: 

• May 17, 2026, 10:00 p.m.: Round trip around the Wuppertal Dam with some single trailsDifficulty: Moderate - approx. 40 km, 680 m elevation gain, riding time approx. 3 hours (including breaks)
• June 21, 2026, 10:00 AM: Tour to the quarry in Lindlar and then back via the "Matukat Alm" and the summit of the Vogelberg.Difficulty: Moderate - approx. 34 km, 830 m elevation gain, riding time approx. 3 hours (including breaks)
• August 23, 2026, 10:00 AM: Bergische Fahrradwoche with a beautiful trail tour around WipperfürthDifficulty: Medium - approx. 36 km, 800 m elevation gain, riding time approx. 3 hours (including breaks)
• September 20, 2026, 10:00 AM: Tour along the old railway embankment to Schwenke and then on towards RadevormwaldDifficulty: difficult - approx. 42 km, 600 m elevation gain, riding time approx. 3 hours (including breaks)
