Hans Gerzlich is horrified when he suddenly realizes he was born in the same year as... old people. During the commercial breaks of his favorite show, instead of seductive aftershaves and fast sports cars, they're advertising Granufink, Voltaren, and heat patches. Looking 50 on the outside, but 20 on the inside, he wonders, "When does life finally begin?" Then, his "Personal Pension Information" arrives. The newly minted "best ager" has calculated that if he retires at 67, he can live quite comfortably for eleven days. That's why he's hoping for an increase in the bottle deposit. But he's also thinking about repressing the thought of his own mortality. About missed opportunities, but growing serenity, what a new ethic of aging should look like, in which economic efficiency plays a role, but not the top priority, and which language he should learn to communicate with his caregiver later on. This cabaret show will have you in stitches if you're 50, have been 50, or plan to turn 50 someday. But be warned: you'll be two hours older and have a whole lot more laugh lines afterward.
