Experience a unique monastery beer tasting with entertaining infotainment from Randolf Link. Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of beer and learn more about its history and the captivating art of brewing in monasteries.

In neighboring Altenberg, traces of Cistercian brewing traditions can still be found today; a magnificent and very well-equipped brewery once stood here directly on the banks of the Dhünn River. Together, you will journey through the world of monastery beers across different eras. Along the way, you will encounter nuns and monks, kings, archbishops, and Cologne citizens. Interwoven with the cultural history of beer, you will discover many lighthearted legends and fun facts.

Part of the infotainment experience includes a tasting of six varieties of appropriate medieval and monastery beers, each presented with its distinct qualities and recipes. As a highlight and the epitome of the highest brewing artistry, you will be offered a fabulous double bock and a legendary Trappist beer! And – in keeping with monastic tradition – fresh bread and select cheeses await you at the tasting – the perfect trio of flavors.
