After Work Walk: Sülz Meadow in Kürten

Our path leads us across a meadow along the Sülz River. Among grasses, blossoms, and buzzing insects, we encounter native wildflowers along the way – unassuming plants with surprising power. On our hike, you'll learn which species are edible, how they can be used in cooking, and why they are so valuable for our health.
Wild plants contain significantly more vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals than many cultivated plants. They are veritable nutrient powerhouses that strengthen our bodies, stimulate metabolism, and support the immune system. Particularly interesting is the fact that the natural microbiome of wild plants—the diverse array of microorganisms living on their leaves and stems—has a positive effect on our own gut microbiome, promoting digestion and overall well-being.
True survival artists await you: spicy goutweed, proud dandelion, mild ribwort plantain, or the cheeky stinging nettle, which has more protein than some steaks. Together we'll smell, taste, and marvel at the green buffet that nature provides – free, regional, and guaranteed organic! To finish, we'll make our own herb butter to take home.

This short herb walk is not dry theory, but a green experience full of stories and good cheer.
We'll discover nature's edible treasures – and afterwards, we'll feast: a bountiful finger food buffet, homemade rye sourdough bread, and refreshing meadow lemonade await you! As the icing on the cake, you'll receive a comprehensive brochure on wild plants, so your knowledge will not only fill you up but also make you wiser.
Come hungry, curious and in a good mood - the meadow is calling!
