Lindlar: Hike "around :metabolon"

Hike
Guided hike as part of the Bergische Wanderwochen (Bergisch Hiking Weeks)
The once smelly, noisy, and often burning Leppe landfill has been transformed since 2010 into a significant European innovation center in partnership with the Cologne University of Applied Sciences. It has become a major attraction for environmental education and research focusing on resource efficiency and conservation, waste prevention, and circular economy. We will learn from a contemporary witness about the site's origins, its operation since 1982, and its current state, including the model houses (tiny houses) built as part of the Regionale 2025 project. In a pleasant group setting, we will hike around :metabolon and learn about Remshagen, Bickenbach, Haus Leppe, the historically significant Leppe Valley with its former Leppe Valley Railway, the Oelchenshammer water-powered hammer mill, and the Neumoresnet mine.
