Lohmar Moor Walk

During our three-hour moorland walk, we'll explore the Gagelbestand nature reserve between Lohmar and Siegburg. We'll take a closer look at the surroundings and answer questions such as: Where can we (still) find moors here? What defines a moor? What's the story behind the nature reserve's name? How is the BUND (Friends of the Earth Germany) renaturing moorland habitats here? As we experience the moor up close, we'll learn more about moors, their unique role in climate change, and the Bergische Heideterasse (Bergisch Heath Terrace) as a moorland habitat.

• Target group: Adults and families with children aged 10 and over
• Route length: approx. 4 km
• Duration: about 3 hours
• Meeting point: The exact meeting point will be provided upon registration: From the Siegburg Nordfriedhof bus stop (accessible via lines 553, 555, 556 and 557), simply walk 1,2 km north along Alte Lohmarer Straße. Parking is available, for example, in the parking lot on Hauptstraße (which is often full) or on Alte Lohmarer Straße in Lohmar, then walk 1 km south along the road.
