Morsbach: A journey of discovery into the historical past and settlement history

Guided hike as part of the Bergische Wanderwoche (Bergisch Hiking Week).
The tour includes 14 stations such as:
2 churches and former parish houses
The old schools and the teachers' house
The journeymen's house and the Marian fountain
The Kaiserlinde tree and the Holper Bach stream with former mills
Fritz Wingen Square, a memorial to the universal artist Fritz Wingen
House sign and the oldest door inscription in Morsbach.
The half-timbered ensemble of Oberholpe.
 
It provides insights into people's lives.
Insights into the school system, the lives of teachers, and the culture war in schools.
Insights into church life and the work of missionaries and priests
Insights into the politics, art and culture of that time
 
  • Target group: Adults and families with children aged 6 and over
  • Route length: 2,5km
  • Duration: 2,5 hours
  • Cost: Free
  • Number of participants: min. 6, max. 20 people
  • Refreshments: After the hike, the local history society will offer drinks and waffles.
  • Additional information: There are 14 stations and we will be out for approximately 2,5 hours. I hoped that the parents themselves could assess how long their children would be able to manage and how interesting they would find it.
