Things to see along the Wupper River

We cycle from Burscheid to the Sengbach Dam and from there on to the Wupper River. Following the water, we climb the idyllic river valley to Germany's highest railway bridge, the Müngsten Bridge. Shortly after, near Solingen, we leave the river and cycle north past Remscheid. At Dahlhausen, we rejoin the Wupper and follow it to the Wuppertal Dam. A little further south, we reach the Balkantrasse Panorama Cycle Path, from where we enjoy a leisurely downhill ride back to Burscheid.
On the way from Burg to the Müngsten Bridge, we pass the suspension ferry over the Wupper River. Unfortunately, it only operates intermittently, but if the timing works out, we should (or can) treat ourselves to this little highlight if we're interested. The crossing costs €2 per person (with bicycle).

  The tour follows cycle paths, quiet side roads, and paved forest and field tracks. The route is not difficult, but it does involve some elevation gain. Therefore, this tour is primarily aimed at participants with a pedelec (e-bike). However, well-trained non-motorized cyclists are also welcome: we will ride at a comfortable pace, always ensuring everyone can keep up.
