Tons of adventures with David Gross

A garbage can as a kitchen, a Land Rover running on used cooking oil, and cooking with what others throw away: these are the ingredients for an extraordinary road trip by chef and filmmaker David Groß through ten European countries – from Denmark to Romania and on to Japan. In Berlin, he organizes a "chopping disco" with misshapen vegetables. At the European Parliament, he cooks with leftovers from the politicians' buffet. In Bristol, stale toast is transformed into fresh beer, and on a fishing boat in Brittany, a hearty soup is made from bycatch. Surprising dishes emerge from supposed waste, stories from encounters – and new perspectives. Everywhere David meets people who share their own unique recipes for a good and environmentally conscious life. Together, they demonstrate the value hidden in things that others have long since written off. In Japan, David discovers the word "Mottainai," a culture of mindfulness towards food, resources, and our planet. And, almost as an aside, the culinary journey also becomes a love story.
