Nestled amidst the picturesque landscape of the Bergisches Land region, the restaurant at Auel Castle combines fine dining with the charm of a historic castle. The stylish ambiance of the historic walls provides the perfect setting for enjoyable moments – whether for a festive dinner, a special occasion, or an everyday visit with friends or family.
In the tastefully decorated bistro with its sun terrace, the hotel serves a generous breakfast buffet daily. Guests can enjoy a selection of fine cheeses and specialties such as Eifel country ham, Jamón Serrano, and smoked and gravlax salmon. Scrambled eggs with bacon and delicious grilled sausages are served fresh from the chafing dish. The buffet is complemented by a variety of cereals, muesli, natural yogurt, fresh fruit, fruit salad, and some homemade jams. Oven-fresh pretzels, croissants, various types of bread and rolls, and country butter complete the breakfast. Freshly brewed Fairtrade coffee, a selection of teas, orange juice, and naturally cloudy organic apple juice are also available.

For private celebrations or business events, Auel Castle offers exclusive brunch packages in elegant, individually designed rooms and halls. The classic brunch includes a breakfast buffet, a selection of appetizers, and hot dishes prepared in a bain-marie. Fairtrade coffee and a variety of teas are also included. The selection of dishes depends on the number of guests. The brunch package can be booked for groups of 25 or more at a price of €40 to €55 per person, and guests dine exclusively in one of the historic rooms for up to four hours.

Auel Castle is conveniently located in a green setting, just a few kilometers from Cologne, and can be easily reached by car, train or plane.
Arriving by car
Free parking spaces are available for guests directly on the grounds of Auel Castle.
From the direction of Cologne/Oberhausen (A3):
Take exit 30a (Rösrath/Lohmar Nord) and turn right towards Lohmar. After approximately 4,5 km, turn left at the traffic lights onto the B484 towards Overath. Auel Castle is located about 6 km further on the left-hand side.
From the direction of Frankfurt/Bonn (A3):
Take exit 30b (Lohmar Nord) and continue straight ahead on the B484 towards Overath. After approximately 6 km, Auel Castle will be on your left.
From the direction of Olpe/Cologne (A4):
Take exit 22 (Overath) and follow the B55 towards Overath. In Overath, turn left at the traffic lights onto the B484 towards Siegburg/Lohmar. After approximately 5 km, Auel Castle will be on your right.
Arrival by train
Take the regional train from Cologne Central Station towards Overath/Gummersbach to the Honrath stop. From there, it's about 2 km by taxi along the B484 towards Lohmar/Wahlscheid. Auel Castle is on the right-hand side.
A taxi can be ordered on the train (Kirschbaum taxi company, Tel. +49 2206 / 5567). The Bonn/Siegburg ICE train station is only 12 km away.
Arriving by plane
Cologne/Bonn Airport is only 19 km from Auel Castle and can be reached by car in about 20 minutes.
