...in the idyllic Agger Valley, in the first hills of the Oberbergisches Land region, in relation to the nearest metropolis, Cologne. However, it wasn't the hilly landscape that gave "the Bergisches Land" its name, but rather the rule of the "Counts / Dukes of Berg“ has shaped the region’s name since the 11th century.
The quiet district of Miebach is a purely residential area with single-family and two-family houses and many cul-de-sacs with no through traffic. Our holiday home is situated on one of these quiet cul-de-sacs, Bergweg, on a two-part plot of land totaling approximately 3700m².
The house plot is approximately 1000m2, while the large, northern-facing park plot, completely enclosed by a 1,50m high fence, is approximately 2700m2 and an ideal place for play and relaxation for young and old.
The property boasts a lovingly and thoughtfully landscaped garden, while the park-like grounds were extensively fenced between June and November 2020, planted with a hedge, and entirely landscaped with various park and fruit trees. Mature trees complement the overall ensemble beautifully.
The "little house" itself offers approximately 130m² of living space on two floors, plus a fully finished basement, providing ample room for a large family. The sleeping area, which underwent complete thermal renovation between August 2020 and March 2021, is also generously equipped with three rooms and a total of six beds.
On the residential floor you will find a kitchen, bathroom, dining and living room as well as a hallway in the middle of the house.
Besides its quiet location, the proximity to the forest is particularly noteworthy: Just 400 meters uphill, you have access to – one might say – seemingly endless woodlands, perfect for hiking, running, jogging, walking, or mountain biking. It's also an ideal place for your little explorers and adventurers! Numerous forest paths offer a wealth of new routes that can be combined for countless short or long walks, tours, or loops – discover new vistas every day on your explorations!
After your sporting excursion, relax in our sauna cabin (2x2,5m sauna area) or in the outdoor whirlpool with 5 loungers and 5 different jet settings. And all this year round at 36°C!
Shopping facilities can be found in discount stores, a beverage shop (400m) or in the village center of Engelskirchen. There you can obtain everyday necessities, and doctors, pharmacies and various gas stations in the immediate vicinity complete the range of services.
OOur holiday cottage has been lovingly and extensively modernized over the years since our family moved in in 1974, always with great attention to detail and considerable financial investment, while never fundamentally altering the character of the house, which was originally built in 1928. The last major renovation took place from June 2020 to May 2021.
