Hohe Hardt observation tower

Viewpoint/lookout tower
169 steps lead to the very top.
On the southern edge of Morsbach, atop the Hohe Hardt, the town's local mountain, stands a 35-meter-high observation tower. In good weather, the viewing platform offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Morsbach Uplands, the Westerwald, the Siebengebirge hills, the Bergisches Land, the Sauerland, and the Siegerland. A marked hiking trail (A1, 4,8 km) leads up to the tower from the car park behind the town hall in Morsbach. The tower can also be reached via the Baumweg (Tree Path). A shelter at the base of the tower invites hikers to rest. Built in 1962, the observation tower is a popular destination for hikers and walkers, especially on weekends. Weather permitting, paragliders launch from the base of the tower for their scenic flights.
