Important relics of technical installations from the last three centuries have been preserved, but their function and development must be explained, for example, during guided tours. Unfortunately, even in the last 50 years, important, well-preserved parts of the facilities, houses, and paths have been destroyed. The industrial history begun here in 1621 by the Höller family would have been worth preserving for posterity as a "document of Burscheid's past." Dry stone walls, foundations, slag heaps, remnants of paths and sunken lanes on the steep slopes, as well as several upper and lower millraces that supplied water from the Eifgen stream to the waterwheels, are still preserved. It is essential to save these "witnesses to history," as well as the two ancient, protected yew trees that once graced the owners' garden. The building and the property are privately owned.
