Sights diverse
The coin maker is a bronze sculpture by the Heiligenhaus artist Josef Vavro.
The monument, completed in September 2003, commemorates the fact that, according to the Wipperfürth Minting Charter of 1275, Count Adolf of Berg was granted the right to mint his coins there continuously. For approximately 100 years, pfennigs, denarii, quadruples, obols, sterlings, and double shillings were minted in the oldest town in the Bergisches Land region.
