Hoffnungsthaler Hammer ensemble with manor house and former factory buildings
The pink factory owner's villa, with its late-classical facade, acquired its present appearance in 1880. It is the jewel of the "Hoffnungsthaler Hammer" metalworking factory, built in 1773. The builder, Rudolf Philipp Boullé, wanted to bring the blessings of industry to the town of Volberg – and make the valley a place of hope.
Hoffnungsthal only became a "boomtown" under the Reusch brothers, who turned it into a sheet metal rolling mill and later also financially supported the construction of the railway into the Sülz valley.
Today, the area is a thriving residential, office, and technology location.
