The district of Volberg is the nucleus of the present-day town of Rösrath – it was first documented in 893. In 1562, the parish became Lutheran, making it one of the oldest Protestant parishes in the Bergisches Land region.
The ensemble around the Volberg church is worth a visit: The rectory dates from 1770, the sexton's house is about 100 years old.
A special feature of the church is the Bergisch pulpit altar. Opposite, the "Baumhofhaus" blends in harmoniously. This Bergisch half-timbered house, dating from 1787, originally stood elsewhere and was moved to its current location in 1983.
