Short facts

  • Lindlar

Erleben Sie bergische Geschichte, Handwerk, Landarbeit und Ökologie hautnah in herrlicher Natur.

Experience Bergische tradition and history, crafts and agricultural work as well as ecology up close in magnificent natural surroundings. Idyllically nestled into the hilly meadows and fields, the traditional Bergisch houses were dismantled at their original location and lovingly re-assembled at the open air museum.
Whether the farmyard, ropeworks or forge - you can look at everything and even get involved yourself. And here and there a relaxing walk in the attractive natural surroundings beckons. Watch a farmer working the field with a plough - just like they did in the olden days - or enjoy a picnic on the grass.
Traditional and local dishes in a cosy atmosphere and a fantastic beer garden are also on offer at the museum restaurant, "Lingenbacher Hof".

There is something happening all year round at LVR-Freilichtmuseum Lindlar. In addition to the many events, a range of offerings to do with crafts, everyday life in the Bergisch region, nature, animals and creativity await:

  • Museum hostel at the Gut Dahl farmstead
  • Children’s birthdays
  • Work outings
  • Museum games
  • Ecological seminars

An e-bike charging station is also available.
