Ford across the Wupper

The ford is located in the "Ohler Wiesen", a recreational area that invites visitors to linger.
Wipperfürth was founded at the intersection of the Bergische Eisenstraße leading to Remscheid and the Heerweg running from Cologne, which crossed the Wupper at a flat point.
As part of the Wupper river restoration project, a ford has been reconstructed there. Now the river can be crossed on large stones without getting wet – provided it is not in flood.
This recreated ford is part of the Bergisches Land hiking trail No. 3, the A scenic route through the local area, and also great fun for young and old.
