Gardens of Burial

Nestled on a lightly wooded hill overlooking the Strunde Valley, right on the edge of Bergisch Gladbach, lie the Gardens of Remembrance. The expansive, natural grounds exude an idyllic tranquility, as one might expect from a secluded woodland. Yet, the transport links are ideal: the bus stops right outside the gates, and parking is readily available nearby – a significant advantage for services and later visits to the grave. Along both sides of the walking path that winds through the Gardens of Remembrance, there is much to discover: numerous meditation spots and art installations, tranquil streams and spring-fed ponds blend together to create a harmonious and inspiring whole. Interspersed throughout are gravesites, some imaginatively designed, others understated – and plenty of beautiful spaces for more.
