Mine exhibition and dollhouse
For a long time, ores were laboriously extracted from the Reichshof mines, yielding silver for coins such as the Wildberg Thaler and the Wildberg Gulden. The exhibition conveys mining history, the daily lives of the miners, geographical details, and technical aspects of the mining tradition and coinage. Besides an impressive, reconstructed mine entrance and a photo wall, sparkling minerals, miners' lamps, and everyday objects are displayed in the glass cases.
An extensive collection of traditional and folk costume dolls from around the world can be admired in the dollhouse. The lovingly presented dolls offer insights into the diversity and history of ceremonial and cultural clothing worn for various occasions. From a fisherman's shirt in the Finkenwerder style to an old Russian kokoshnik headdress, there is all sorts of familiar and curious items to discover.
A diverse museum education program and regularly offered guided tours invite visitors to explore the exhibitions. Both exhibitions are wheelchair accessible.
