House Venauen

Monument
Castle/Palace/Manor House
The Venauen House is an old noble residence in Rösrath dating back to 1555.
Peter von Bellinkhusen had a building constructed near [location missing] in 1555. Finawen (Venauen), which means something like marshy meadow, is where the Sülz River flows near the manor house. In the immediate vicinity is the Eulenbroich House, which Johann Freiherr von Francken also had rebuilt around 1737, just like the Venauen House.
After various owners and uses of the former aristocratic estate, there have recently been efforts to make the park accessible to the public and to develop the old cinema hall into a city theater.
