Historic town center of Ruppichteroth

Historical city center
On the edge of the Bergisches Land region, in the Bröltal valley, you will find the "golden village" of Ruppichteroth.
An idyllic, historic village center with numerous listed half-timbered houses invites visitors to linger. The Catholic parish church of St. Severin on Burgstraße is also worth seeing. Its Romanesque west tower, built of rubble masonry, dates back to the 12th century. A visit to the Protestant village church, built in 1683, is also recommended.

Ruppichteroth won gold medals at both the district and state levels in the "Our Village Has a Future" competition in 2014 and 2015. Furthermore, Ruppichteroth won the silver medal at the national level in 2016.

The Christmas market "Döörper Weihnacht," held annually on the second weekend of Advent in the center of Ruppichteroth, is particularly atmospheric. Around 80 exhibitors in lovingly decorated wooden huts create a truly romantic ambiance.
