Parish Church of St. Nicholas - Wipperfürth
The parish church of Wipperfürth dates back to the 12th century and is the most important and unified church building in the entire Oberbergischer Kreis district. This Romanesque church, built before the transition to Gothic architecture, is a branch of St. Aposteln in Cologne. Thus, this sacred building still testifies to the close connection between Cologne and Wipperfürth during the early Middle Ages.
The tower's spire, at 57 meters high, served as a landmark for sailors from all directions as early as the Middle Ages.
