Column fountain in the Nümbrecht spa park
The fountain was erected in 1974 by the sculptor Michael Schwarze to mark the state garden show. Initially misunderstood as an anatomical study, the fountain sparked considerable discussion.
But the fountain does indeed have a meaning. The female figures symbolize beauty and fertility, the fists violence and assertiveness, the hand understanding and creation, and the male leg progress and conquest.
