Georghausen Castle with golf course
In the Hommerich district lies the baroque moated castle "Schloss Georghausen" (circa 14th century; documented in 1466 as belonging to the Bergish chancellor Dietrich Lünick). Cistine monks (then owners of the castle complex) created the trout ponds behind the outer bailey in 1778 for ecological reasons. Today it is owned by the Barons von Landsberg.
A wide avenue leads past fish ponds to the castle grounds and offers the visitor charming perspectives.
Today the castle has the character of a rural manor house and houses a golf hotel with an adjacent golf course (tournament facility).
The 18-hole golf course extends around the castle, with a 100-meter elevation change.
The clubhouse offers a cozy castle terrace and a bar for the players.
