St. Pankratius - Odenthal

Church
St. Pankratius is, alongside Altenberg Cathedral, the second art historical highlight of Odenthal.
The Romanesque basilica dates back to the 11th century, making it one of the oldest churches in the Bergisches Land region. The interior is divided into three naves. The dark, wooden coffered ceiling forms a beautiful contrast to the whitewashed walls painted with delicate foliate ornaments. In the entrance area is an octagonal granite baptismal font from the 12th century. The tower houses the oldest bell in the Rhineland, dating from 1050, which is still in use.

Guided tours of the church and the historic town center are offered upon request.
