In the wide, flat floodplain landscapes, there are hardly any hills to climb. The Agger-Sülz cycle path largely avoids road traffic, leading through a diverse cultural landscape on mostly natural paths or paved cycle and pedestrian paths.
To explore the entire route, the train stations Rösrath and Overath are recommended as starting and ending points, respectively. Both towns are connected by a regional train (RB25).
From Bergisch Gladbach (S-Bahn), a connecting path leads to the Agger-Sülz cycle path as far as Rösrath (approx. 15 km). This railway cycle path runs almost entirely through the Königsforst forest.
The Agger-Sülz cycle path and its access route are consistently marked with logo inserts in the red and white cycle path signage. There are numerous places to stop for refreshments along the way.
In Sankt Augustin, there is a connection to the Sieg Cycle Path, which continues towards Bonn or Hennef; in Bergisch Gladbach, it connects to the Strunde Cycle Path, which continues to Cologne. The Agger-Sülz Cycle Path will be extended northwards in the coming years to form a 115 km long circular route and will connect to the Bergisches Panorama Cycle Path in Wipperfürth.
There are several bicycle rental stations along the cycle path, mainly at bus and train stops.
The rental can start and end at any station and is done via app (www.nextbike.de/de/rsvg).
At the train station square in Overath, right next to the train station, there is a 1,50 meter high repair column (ADAC bicycle service stationThe bike service station is equipped with high-quality tools. Minor repairs to bicycles, as well as to strollers, skateboards, or wheelchairs, can be carried out directly. The bike service station is available to everyone 24/7, regardless of ADAC membership.

The section between the Aggerbogen Nature School (Lohmar-Wahlscheid) and Troisdorf-Altenrath is particularly suitable for families. In Overath and Rösrath, the Agger-Sülz Cycle Path runs for several kilometers on a separate cycle and pedestrian path alongside the busy federal or state highway. In Lohmar and Siegburg, short sections must be covered on busy roads within the towns.
