From the church square in Much, the route leads along the main road towards Drabenderhöhe. To the left of the route is Overbach Castle, dating back to the 15th century. In the village of Niederwahn, the route continues via Roßhohn and Oberdorf to Henningen. From there, you soon reach the highest point in the municipality of Much, the Heckberg, which offers magnificent views as far as the Siebengebirge hills. From there, the route leads to the right through a wooded area to the village of Drabenderhöhe and on towards Marienfeld. Beyond Ophausen, the route follows a cycle path along the tranquil Bröl river. Shortly before Damm, the route turns right uphill to the idyllic village of Tüschenbonnen. The route continues uphill via Birrenbachshöhe to Wohlfahrt and then descends again into the Wahnbach valley. Passing the Herrenteich pond, the route climbs to Sommerhausen on a high-level path offering stunning views. Shortly afterwards, you arrive back in the main town of Much.

Highlights along the route:

  • Overbach Castle Golf Course: Around the medieval Overbach Castle, the 18-hole course of the Burg Overbach Golf Club was created in 1985 on an 85-hectare, largely natural area. The golf course is considered one of the most varied in the region.
  • Much Forest Swimming Pool: In 2007, the "Much Forest Swimming Pool Citizens' Foundation" saved the outdoor pool from closure. With great dedication, a small paradise was created where families, senior citizens, people with disabilities, and visitors can enjoy the refreshing water.
  • St. Martin's Church: The Catholic parish church of St. Martin in the historic town center forms a listed ensemble with the half-timbered houses on the church square. The beautiful salmon-colored building, including the tower and nave, dates back to the 12th century.
  • St. John the Baptist: The church in Kreuzkapelle dates back to the 12th century in its structural form and is a Romanesque single-nave rubble stone building, notable for its squat construction. One of the bells dates from 1433.
  • Heckberg: The Heckberg, at 383 m high and comprising two summits, lies approximately 5 km north of Much and represents the highest elevation in the Heck forest area. The 2,8 ha Heckberg nature reserve is located on its eastern slope.
