Accessible hiking trail across the ridge between Voiswinkel and Eikamp
This paved hiking trail, also suitable for wheelchair users, begins at the hiking parking lot near the village of Altehufe. From here, the trail leads westward along the ridge between Voiswinkel and Eikamp. In the Middle Ages, this very path was part of an important military road connecting Cologne and WipperfĂĽrth. Traces of ramparts and ditches can still be seen along its edges; these are the remains of toll barriers where tolls were collected. The wheelchair-accessible section ends at the small hamlet of Oberborsbach with its beautiful half-timbered houses. Those who would like to enjoy a magnificent view over the Rhine Valley and don't mind a few minor inclines can continue on to the Sonnenberg hiking parking lot. Since the path from here to Voiswinkel has a very steep gradient, wheelchair users should begin their return journey at this point at the latest.
