"Coffee drinker linden trees" have been central to village life for centuries, juniper has been used as a medicinal plant since antiquity, and oak has held a firm grip on our currency for decades. These trees produce a significant portion of the oxygen without which life would be impossible. This exploration will take you on a journey of discovery through Morsbach and into the world of fascinating tree species – their characteristics, history, and the myths surrounding them.
On the 6,5-kilometer circular trail, you'll encounter trees under which justice was dispensed, learn how the "bread and butter" of forestry became a symbol of forest dieback, and discover how a prickly plant with healing powers opens up new perspectives. A good overview of a large part of the approximately 56-square-kilometer Morsbach municipal area can be found along the way at the observation tower on the "Hohe Hardt" on the southern edge of the town. From its platform, you can see as far as the Siebengebirge hills. On the way to Morsbach's local mountain and through the town center, the eight information panels of the "Tree Trail" offer interesting facts for adult hikers as well as exciting stories featuring the mouse from the popular German children's television program "Die Sendung mit der Maus" for younger hikers.
Parts of this hike follow the route of the "Bergischer Panoramasteig".
Places to eat and drink can be found in the center of Morsbach, e.g. at the Landhotel Goldener Acker.
The trail has a total of 8 information panels. We thank Susanne Reifenrath, who maintains the trail as a volunteer trail steward.

Directions
The "Tree Trail" is a circular hiking trail that initially follows forest and farm tracks, then continues through the center of Morsbach on quiet roads. The trail first leads through the spa park and along farm tracks beside the Wisser Bach stream to Niederdorf. From there, it continues along farm tracks past meadows and through the forest, up to the observation tower on the Hohen Hardt hill. The steep descent to the war memorial is via a very narrow, stony path, so please wear sturdy footwear. This section of the trail is not suitable for strollers, but alternative routes via paved paths are available. From the war memorial, farm tracks lead back to the Wisserbach stream. A final loop then follows small roads to St. Gertrude's Church and back to the town hall in Morsbach.

On the information panels, the mouse introduces children to the world of trees and explains interesting and exciting facts about the topic. On the "Streifzug" (a kind of nature walk), children can discover which animals live in which "level" of a tree and which trees already existed when the dinosaurs were alive.
