From the bustling town of Ründeroth in the winding valley of the Agger river, the first stage of the Bergisches Panoramasteig trail leads up to the "stone-rich" Lindlar, which has this nickname because of its productive quarries.
The stone quarried around the tranquil village is known worldwide as Lindlar greywacke and has been used in construction projects such as Frankfurt Airport, Dubai, and even on a Russian billionaire's yacht. Along the way, a detour to the artificial mountain of :metabolon is highly recommended. This site, named after a former landfill, has been transformed into an environmental education center with recreational facilities, including a giant slide.

- The first stage offers a challenging ascent and descent, leading mostly along forest tracks and charming, scenic paths. From the footbridge over the Agger River, the route initially climbs through a wooded area towards Feckelsberg, then descends on forest tracks and paths to Blumenau in the Leppe Valley. The trail then climbs steeply along a meadow path to Rommersberg and continues through the forest to :metabolon. Following the edge of the forest, the path leads to Eichholz and then, with gentle ups and downs, through another wooded area to Burg. Continuing along scenic forest, meadow, and farm tracks, the route reaches Voßbruch, where a path through the woods leads to the stage's end: the junction to the center of Lindlar, above the LVR Open-Air Museum.
