Bergischer Panoramasteig - Stage 8: Bergneustadt - Wildbergerhütte

Through rushing forests and small villages, the hiker ascends almost imperceptibly to the Blockhaus winter sports area – 490 meters above sea level, high above the health resort of Eckenhagen. Along the way, a rest stop at the edge of one of the last remaining juniper heaths in the Oberbergisches Land region is a welcome opportunity. Right next to the former ski jump at Blockhaus, the hiker is finally rewarded with a panoramic view that, on a clear day, stretches all the way to the Siebengebirge hills on the horizon.
