The Wiehl Dam shows that the reservoirs in the Oberberg region have more to offer than just their water.
Right at the start of this stage, you'll discover an island that has become famous as an advertising medium for a beer brand. Christmas tree plantations line the path up to the highest point of this stage near Erdingen, from where you can see large parts of the Bergisches Land region. Rome isn't far from here either: the Oberbergisches Land's equivalent of the Holy City boasts not only a chapel but also a helicopter landing pad, making it a worthwhile detour before the path leads down to the main town of the municipality of Morsbach.

We would like to thank Axel Krämer and Jens Dassow, who look after the path as volunteer path stewards.

Here you can find all the hosts on stage 9.

Directions

The ninth stage leads mostly along well-maintained farm tracks and some narrow forest and meadow paths, offering a lively mix of woodland and open areas and frequent beautiful views. The stage has relatively little elevation change, climbing gently from Nespen to Erdingen on forest and meadow paths, but then descending almost entirely to Morsbach, making it a relatively easy stage.
