A large part of this stage runs along the Wahnbach reservoir.
Initially following wide farm tracks, then repeatedly along more natural paths, the route leads impressively close to the drinking water reservoir. Along the way, it offers captivating views of a landscape reminiscent of Scandinavian fjords. Passing the medieval village of Happerschoß, the trail continues to the former Seligenthal Monastery and into the Sieg Valley, where Hennef, the "City of 100 Villages," awaits as the day's destination.
If you hike the Bergischer Weg trail and take photos at certain locations, you can collect points and receive a hiking badge. You can find more information here.
We would like to thank Horst-Heinrich Peters, who oversees the path as a volunteer path steward.

Directions
This stage mostly follows wide forest tracks, partly natural paths, largely along the wooded banks of the Wahnbach reservoir and its tributaries, and features a gentle but pleasant elevation profile. Near Pinn, a detour to the Münchenberg viewpoint is worthwhile, offering a wonderful view of the reservoir and the dam. From the dam, the route continues along forest tracks beside the Wahnbach stream, past the former Seligenthal Monastery, towards the Sieg River, and then over two final climbs to the stage marker at Giersberg near Bröl.
