The region around Marienheide, Wipperfürth, and Hückeswagen boasts a density of reservoirs that is unique in Europe. This bike tour takes you past four of these reservoirs. What impact do the reservoirs have on the flora and fauna, and which animals have found a habitat there? Three audio clips will tell you more about the small or hidden creatures that you might not see at first glance. Water will be your constant companion on this tour through the Bergisches Land region. Arrival/Departure:
The RB 25 runs from Cologne to Marienheide station. Parking is available at the station.
During the summer months between March and October, the [train/bus] runs on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. "Bergische FahrradBus" Between Leverkusen-Opladen and Marienheide. Those who only want to cycle part of the reservoir route can conveniently continue or return from Marienheide, Wipperfürth, or Hückeswagen using the bicycle bus. Up to 20 bicycles can be transported simultaneously on the trailer and in the bus. You can find more information here. www.bergischer-fahrradbus.de.
