A side trip to Rome

The tour starts below the church in Lichtenberg. Keep the church to your left and follow Bergstraße towards Rom. Continue for 2 km to Wendershagen. Turn right there towards Ellingen. Follow the Ellinger Bach stream downhill through the village of Birken. At the bottom of the valley, turn left onto Waldbröler Straße. Continue towards the Morsbach town hall. Follow the L 324 along the Wisser Bach stream to Volperhausen, passing through the villages of Rhein and Eugenienthal. From Volperhausen, turn right and climb steeply uphill to Holpe. Turn right behind the Protestant church and follow the Rolshagener Bach stream to the village of Rolshagen. Continue towards Wallerhausen, keeping an eye out for the easily visible radio and television tower. Keep the tower to your right. Follow the cycle path to Hülstert and cross the intersection. You are now almost back to your starting point below the church in Lichtenberg.
