Driving along the timber-framed house route through the Bergisches Land region.
Typical Bergisches Land – many immediately think of green meadows, blue reservoirs, expansive forests, rolling hills, and picturesque half-timbered houses... And that's precisely what the Half-Timbered House Route combines, showcasing the Bergisches Land at its most beautiful. The focus is on the half-timbered villages, which are usually idyllic and somewhat hidden away. There, you'll notice the deep black timber beams, the gleaming white infill panels, and the bright green shutters – the so-called Bergisches Land triad. Away from the busy main roads, picturesque villages with their half-timbered houses, some of which are even listed as historical monuments, await your discovery. Over 146 kilometers, you'll have ample time to get to know the Bergisches Land, and especially the Oberbergisches Land region, much better. Besides the opportunity for a picnic with one of the panoramic views, the Bergisches Land's restaurants and cafes along the route are always open for you.
