The circular hiking trail starts at the Panoramahütte Blockhaus in Reichshof or at the Restaurant Ballebäuschen in Reichshof-Hespert.
Off the beaten track, through floodplain landscapes and rewarded with breathtaking views after the climbs: Welcome to the northern Bergisches Land region. From the hiking parking lot near Hähnen, you first walk through the Steinagger floodplain and enjoy the lush green and water-rich surroundings.

You'll pass the Hexentanzplatz (Witches' Dance Floor), where interesting events about old customs and times are regularly held. In Hespert, the Ballebäuschen inn is a good place to stop for refreshments before you hike via Heidberg and then northwards to the Silberkuhle (Silver Hollow).

At this highest point of the tour, you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic view over the Bergisches Land region. You then hike back to the starting point via field paths. Nearby, the rustic panoramic hut "Schorsch's" offers a perfect spot for a refreshing drink on its terrace to reflect on your day in nature.

Directions

  • From the parking lot, follow the Bergisches Panorama Trail south along the road. At the second parking lot, turn right downhill, then after about 600 meters, turn right again. After another 400 meters, before reaching a stream, turn left. Follow the Panorama Trail downhill through the valley to the Hexentanzplatz (Witches' Dance Floor). From there, continue diagonally left, past the Puhlbruch forester's lodge, across the stream (Steinagger), then take the second left and follow the Panorama Trail uphill to the road. Turn right there, passing the Silberkuhle hiking parking lot.
  • 1, here branch shortcut: via parking lot, on farm track with “Street of Work” (half a wagon wheel) to Silberkuhle until 4After approximately 240 meters, turn right onto "Am Jagdhaus". At the junction, turn sharply left, then at the T-junction, turn left over the motorway bridge, around the factory grounds to Hespener Dorfstraße. Follow this road to the left towards Hepsert, take the first right onto "Glockenweg", then right onto "Hasseler Straße", passing the "Ballebäuschen" restaurant (refreshments available after approximately 6,5 km).
  • After crossing the L351, at the intersection turn diagonally right onto a farm track, down into the valley.
  • 2 At the third junction, turn left (W), then right past Nebelseifen, along Nebelseifener Straße past the golf course to Hassel. Continue straight ahead on a farm track into a stream valley, then turn left, following the signs for "W" along the golf course and onto "Hochstraße" through Langenseifen to Hesperter Straße (L351). Follow this road for 200 meters to the right, then diagonally left via "Auf dem hohen Busch" to Heidberg.
  • 3 Turn left uphill at the church onto Alfred-Christlieb-Straße, follow the "X12" for approximately 2,3 km to Halbhustener Weg and take this road to the left over the motorway.
  • 4 At the intersection, bear diagonally left, continuing to follow the "X12". Cross the road "Zur Silberkuhle", keep left after crossing the stream, after 300 meters turn left, cross another stream, then turn right, at the junction turn left and on the border to the Olpe district follow the X12 uphill until you reach the top.
  • 5 At the crossroads, turn left onto the farm track, then follow the A9 back to Blockhaus (keep right on the road to the viewpoint and the "Panorama Hut", turn left to the parking lot).
Tip: Of course, the long loop (19 km) can also be divided into two shorter loops. The northern loop between Blockhaus and Silberkuhle is 11,2 km long and can be started at Blockhaus or at the Silberkuhle parking lot (if starting at the Silberkuhle "Panoramahütte," the starting point is about 6,5 km away). The southern loop via Hespert and Heidberg is 12,5 km long; the Silberkuhle hiking parking lot is recommended as the starting point. Those who would like to stop at the "Ballebäuschen" restaurant at the end can also hike the southern loop in reverse (via "Straße der Arbeit" through Silberkuhle, on X12 to Heidberg, then with W and the Panoramasteig trail to Hespert), in which case the restaurant stop is about 10,5 km away.

The exact description and the numbers mentioned in the text can be viewed in the illustration "Directions".
