Great Wiehl Springs Hiking Trail

The Krombacher Island, the visual flagship of the Krombacher brewery from Kreuztal, is located in the easternmost tip of the reservoir.

Two very different circular hiking trails open up the Wiehl spring area to hikers. The starting point for both hikes is at the two information boards above the village of Reichshof-Wiehl.

For a day trip, the 17,8 km long circular hiking trail marked with a "W" is ideal, leading from the "Wiehl" stream to the reservoir of the same name. Hikers are treated not only to scenic views but also to a wealth of experiences. With a few short but worthwhile detours, you can visit, for example, the art gallery in Hespert or the golf course near the village of Hassel. The "Krombacher Island" viewpoint or a visit to the historic mill in the village of Nespen are also always worth a visit.

Along the way or in the immediate vicinity, local restaurateurs repeatedly invite you to refresh yourself during a relaxing break.
