Cycling on disused railway lines. Through tunnels and over viaducts. From the Ruhr region through the Bergisches Land to the Sauerland.

Discover numerous attractions in complete relaxation from the saddle

The Bergische Panorama Cycle Route connects the Ruhr region, the Bergisches Land, and the Sauerland along a route of almost 133 kilometers. It is also well-suited for multi-stage cycling. An orange sign will guide you along the way.

Look forward to many extraordinary insights and perspectives.
14 tunnels, viaducts up to 40 meters high and numerous bridges with magnificent views of wide landscapes or the sea of houses in Wuppertal – what engineering once developed for the railway, you can now discover in a relaxed way by bike.

Experience the forested and water-rich low mountain landscape, fascinating traces of industrial heritage, and numerous highlights that invite you to stop: for example, the Müngsten Bridge Park beneath Germany's highest railway bridge, the small transporter bridge over the Wupper River that requires some muscle power, or the climb to Burg Castle, where the cable car also assists bicycles (no e-bikes) on the ascent.

Part of the "Water Quintet Route" leads past blue reservoirs, through the castle town of Hückeswagen and the Hanseatic city of Wipperfürth. On the final stretch from Marienheide to Olpe in the Sauerland region, the Bergische Panorama Cycle Route follows regular cycle paths.
