Over a length of 1,3 km, permanently installed insect hotels, beehives, log hives, bumblebee hotels, and variable information panels about wild-growing insect- and bee-friendly trees, shrubs, and other plants along the edges of the paths are described, with information on the special food supply for the various insects of all species.
This educational trail aims to highlight the particularly dramatic situation of widespread insect decline and offer specific tips on how to counteract this negative phenomenon. Advice is given especially regarding insect-friendly plantings in home gardens, including links to NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union) and projects by landscape conservation authorities, as well as the local community's initiative "Preservation of Species-Rich Field Margins."
