  • Start: Hiking car park Burg Zweiffel, Bücheler Weg / Herrenstrunden, 51465 Bergisch Gladbach; alternatively: car park at the church of St. Johann Baptist, Herrenstrunden 32, 51465 Bergisch Gladbach; or car park Alte Dombach, Igeler Hof Weg / Dombach-Sander-Straße, 51465 Bergisch Gladbach
The circular route starts in Herrenstrunden and runs predominantly on paved asphalt paths.
We've selected a culturally enriching and relaxing hike for you on the outskirts of Bergisch Gladbach. The starting point for this roughly nine-kilometer walk is Herrenstrunden, where two remarkable historical buildings await you at the end of the tour. First, however, the path leads you through the tranquil and picturesque landscape of the Bergisches Land region.

On country lanes alongside cow pastures and through fairytale-like overgrown forest paths, you can take a break from everyday life. Back in Herrenstrunden, we highly recommend a visit to Zweiffel Castle and the Maltese Commandery. Both are exceptionally beautiful reminders of the area's long history.

Our recommendations for places to eat and drink:

This route includes two farm shops and two milk filling stations:

In the valley, cross the L286 road and continue straight ahead on Igeler Hof Weg.
