Mill Route

Water is the defining element of the Bergisches Land region. For centuries, people have harnessed its power, building mills along its rivers and streams. The Mill Route leads from the historic center of Odenthal to the most important mill sites in the municipality. The trail follows the idyllic courses of the Dhünn and Scherfbach rivers. The numerous mill models in the Wind and Water Power Museum in Stein offer hikers the opportunity to learn more about how the various mills worked. From Höffe in the Scherfbach Valley, the Mill Route can also be combined with a visit to the K1 high ropes course at Kramerhof.
