Naafbachtal Route

First, we go under the Wahlscheid bypass and find ourselves directly in the landscaped garden at the Aggerbogen. After about 200 meters, we turn left and drive towards Aggerschlösschen, which we reach via a wooden bridge. Another 200 meters later, we turn left again towards Brückerhof/Hitzhof.

After passing Brückerhof, we turn left at Hitzhof. Passing a campsite, we turn left over the Agger bridge and are now on the B 484, which we only follow for a few meters. Here we turn right and then immediately left again onto the road leading to Höffen.

We take the third right turn and are greeted by a wooden sign: "Welcome to the Naafbachtal Nature Reserve." After just a few meters, we hear the babbling of the Naafbach stream. For the next few kilometers, we cycle along more or less well-maintained farm tracks at the edge of the forest through the tranquil, idyllic Naafbachtal valley, past the Naafmühle mill and the Naaf stream, continuing towards Ingersauel. Towards the end of the route through the Naafbachtal valley, we pass an ostrich farm and then reach the district road that connects Neuhonrath and Seelscheid.

We turn left into Ingersauel and continue uphill via Saal to Oberstehöhe. Once at the top, we begin the descent via Grünenborn to Neuhonrath in the Agger Valley. In Neuhonrath, we turn left onto Schachenaueler Straße (the first section is a cycle/footpath only). Passing tennis courts (note: speed limit of 10 km/h), we soon reach a high bank of the Agger River and are almost in Wahlscheid. We pass a playground on the right. Passing the retirement home, we turn left onto Wahlscheider Straße, where we can almost see the Forum.
